Chesapeake Sunrise Winery LLC is a boutique estate vineyard perched on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, where cool maritime breezes and sandy loam soils give rise to vivid, food-friendly wines. Founded in 2011 by the Collins family, the winery farms 18 acres of Vinifera and hybrid varieties-most notably Viognier, Cabernet Franc and Chambourcin. Every cluster is hand-harvested at first light, then fermented in small lots using indigenous yeasts and aged in a mix of French oak and stainless steel to preserve the Bay’s signature minerality.
Our straw-bale tasting pavilion, built from reclaimed barn wood and walls of inset glass bottles, opens onto a wide deck that faces the sunrise over the water. Guests can sample limited-production wines while local oysters roast on an open grill, or book a private tour that ends with a candle-lit barrel-cellar tasting. Open Friday through Sunday and by appointment for weddings, corporate retreats and chef-paired harvest dinners, Chesapeake Sunrise Winery invites you to taste the dawn of the Bay in every glass.
